How often should I have my oil changed?
There’s no one answer to this question, but there are some general guidelines.
At A Better Choice Auto Care, we’ve been providing the good people of the Skagit Valley area with our auto maintenance services for years, and have performed a number of oil changes. We wanted to talk today about some general oil change guidelines.
The real answer is it’s different with different makes.
When you purchase a car, it’s best to check your vehicle maintenance guide to see how often you should change your vehicle’s oil. If you don’t have your maintenance book, you can always ask one of our professional auto mechanics about when you should have your oil changed – you can give A Better Choice Auto Care a call at (360) 540-7161.
For most, your oil should be changed about every 3,000 miles.
This is only a generality, but most vehicles need their oil to be changed about every 3,000 miles. If you use a higher-quality oil, you may not have to have it changed as often.
You can try to change your oil yourself, or you can bring it by our Nacogdoches auto shop, and let one of our mechanics do it for you.
I don’t know when my oil was last changed.
Not exactly sure when your oil was last changed? That’s OK. While we recommend you keep track of your oil changes in a notepad, if you’re not sure, you can bring it in. Our team of experienced mechanics will be able to look at your oil and tell you whether or not it’s time for a change.
